Water based. Get something that says to wash the brushes out with soapy water. It is much easier to use than solvent paint which even if you can breathe well stinks the house for ages.

I'm afraid of it making me not breath well very unsure as to what to use xxx

Why don't you try a tester pot just to see. A year before I got poorly I painted all the doors and woodwork here with water based paint. Granted I could breathe at the time, but I don't recall any smell and didn't have to open windows etc.

Been and bought satin wood water based now hubby will do them when I'm out or if I'd do it with a face mask on thanks for your help xx

Cotton face masks are only good for dust. You can get proper masks from car paint suppliers that cover the face and have carbon filters. I primed my car wearing one, no smell at all. I'm not really up to finishing it now. Mine was a 3m one. It worked for 40 hours. When not in use it lives in a supplied sealed bag so actually has a long shelf life.

Thank you so any diy shop should have them than...thanks..

Water based satinwood or gloss, very low odours and drys in less than an hour. I have to do hotel bedrooms at first I was told to use oil based but the rooms had to be kept off for 3/4days and guests complained for weeks about paint smell so now I only use dulux water based satin or gloss.

Just as an aside, any decent paint supplier/shop should be able to give you help and advice you need. Come and do mine afterwards! 😂

Lol cheeky wee man got it now 😀

Water basit

I have had COPD for 25 years now and have always used organic paint that gives off no fumes. You have to remember that standard paint emits chemical fumes even when dry. It is more expensive than normal paint but worth the extra cost. I use "Lakeland Paints" but I'm sure there are other similar products.

The best paint jobs are done when you get someone else to do it for you.
