Swelling in the hands, and legs and feet.

Hi I wondered if anyone on here has experienced bad swelling in the legs, feet and hands also the stiffness is worse after a nights sleep in which the swelling is at it's worse !

My mum has it for over 3 months trips to the doctors and specialists aren't throwing any light on this! It's not DVT or RA or odema or cancer she has had numerous blood tests recently had a scan the same type that you have when you are pregnant they just said everything looks inflamed, it's getting to the stage where she can't open things i.e. Bottles handles walking is hard she can't do excercise anymore i.e. She used to do yoga with me and Zumba that has had to stop ! Can anyone throw any light on this so I can get my mum back.

Good morning Venuser,

When your Mum was told everything was inflamed, did they say actually what was inflamed, and was it looked into more thoroughly? I'd be wanting to know more, for there are so many other things that could be a part of whatever is causing her misery and you the anxiety. I assume she has been checked for Arthritis. I were you I would push for more information and tests for this is not right. Good luck, and please keep in touch with us.

Thankyou for getting in touch it's so frustrating and everything moves so slowly ! And yes she has been tested for arthritis my mum thinks it has been triggered by new blood pressure tablets that she was on but she has been off them for a few months now x

I was treated for swelling with diuretics. My doctor took me off them for my diabetes but after 3 days I was all swollen again and in pain so I went back on them . They work for me
