Midge is a bit special,

The best thing that I have.

When I go a travelling

I call her my sat/nav.

Last month she was quite poorly.

I thought that she had gone.

But she decided in the end

I ain't not leaving Don.

It was pancreatitis, she's on a special diet and tablets. Between us the van is like a chemists shop. ;-)

There's a surprise. My cat, Eddy, hopefully has just recovered from pancreatitis. He couldn;t keep food down and I got the vet in, I was worried. Too bad that I had a bad chest infection, and was stretched to cleaning up after Eddie. I prefer to forget last week.

In Midge case it was coming out the back. :-o I did my best to keep up with it, fortunately I have an understanding cleaning lady to call on.

I've had that & the pain is truly awful. How an animal copes, who doesn't understand what is going on, amazes me. Poor Midge, she did well to pull through, especially as she wasn't a spring chicken. The pain is so bad it can result in toxic shock & death. You must have been worried sick. I hope she is doing well now? Penny xx

She was really bad and I wasn't much better myself with a chest infection. We were in the campervan outside the vets in the car park. I think it helped Midge to see that we were suffering together. LOL

Oh my I'm worried about both of you now! Last month is not long (I initially read your post as last year) are you sure you are both up to gallivanting about so soon? I'll tell your Mum & she'll be having some firm words with you, won't you hufferpuffer?

Poor girl she looks so scared. I would think it helped that not only were you there but the vet set up the drip in the campervan, somewhere she feels safe. I hope she's getting extra hugs & cuddles, give her some from me, brave, brave girl. 😊 Penny xxx

The photo was taken on 10th January 2017. You can see on the photo she has a little smile on her face at the strange predicament we found ourselves in. We have now both made a full recovery.

Midge has her own special diet prepared for her by tails.com and I came here to learn how to huff & puff to clear my chest. The camper has had a full service and as soon as the weather forecast looks good, we shall take a short break, not too far away, to get us started. We have a good heating system and she even has her own 12volt electric under-blanket!

Soooo cute! 💕 I am really pleased Midge decided to stay with you Don.... (despite the poetic license of a double negative 😄)

glad to hear she made a good recovery , must have been a very worrying time for you , also good to hear you got over your chest infection ,

in reply to mmzetor

Thanks, I wasn't a great fan of 2017 to start with. Clearing the infection was down to the AB's but getting rid of the chest gunk was due to you lot here and I'm very grateful.

Glad to hear Midge is feeling better. I have a Border Collie who has ulcerative colitis since he was 3 and he's now 11. He is on a special diet to keep him well and I try to keep his stress levels down which is getting really difficult because where I stay, people let off fireworks for nearly a month. Also have to put up with very anti-social cyclists on the pavement which all add to our stress. I have COPD, severe deafness as well as and hip and back arthritis so life is tough for both of us. I would be severely depressed if I didn't have him.

I'm sorry you have so much to put up with. I thought I was losing my hearing but when I went to the audio clinic they told me both my hearing aids had packed in! I came out of the feeling on top of the world and on Thursday I'm to get new ones of the latest design. :-)

Our cat had pancreatitis last year. We took her in when her owner (our friend) passed away. She is lovely and very funny! She was put on Hills Feline Digestive ID Diet. After one week she couldn't keep anything down again, so after a bit of research, we tried Dr Mercola's digestive enzymes ( a pinch mixed in with her food). It has worked a treat and she is now in perfect health.

Aidi-Joll and Topsy (the name we were given, 🐈or Flopsy, the name she was given as a kitten and still responds to).

By the way, not sure how to upload photos on the site. 😁
