I know only too well the debilitating effects of lengthy courses of abx, steroids and other medications and share your distress. But be careful about supplements as these can also have contra indications. Do you have a named community pharmacist?? I would suggest having a chat with them in the first place. Then, most probably, prioritise nutrition with emphasis on greens [think of all those wonderful tasty green salads with great dressings to restart the taste buds], vegetables, fruit, grains and lots of oily fish. There is plenty of good nutritional information on NHS Choices, Patient Info websites for instance.

One thing you could try is to eat live yogurt. Antibiotics kill good bacteria as well as bad. Live yogurt helps to replace them

I always take some probiotic capsules daily during and after antibiotics. Ones that contain at least 20 billion good bacteria.

Infections and antibiotics both deplete your immune system. I also take a good multi-vitamin and mineral every day.

Also plenty of fresh fruit & veg every day, preferably veg. Free range eggs. Perhaps a bottle of tonic? You and your health are precious so be good to yourself. X

Good multi vitamin tablet, Omega 3 capsule, St John's Wort (unless you're on any prescribed anti-depressants) - that's just a few of the things I take daily. Ideally we should get all these things from food but a lot of us are not able to rise to the challenge of cooking every day; plus you have to take into account that much of our food is grown in sadly depleted soil and is constantly being sprayed with pesticides. Eggs are a staple for me, have always had one or two a day but don't buy from caged birds - apart from humane considerations they must be full of injected nasties.
