“I am not going anywhere, I don’t think there’s a danger and the sea looks too calm.”

Others claimed the winds were pushing the waves away from shore yesterday.

But local police commander Chief Inspector Russ Cole insisted: “We’re not crying wolf.”

The Environment Agency (EA) has issued 17 severe warnings – which warn of danger to life – with those in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex most under threat.

Calm at the moment on the South coast but extra sea defences were put in place last night on Littlehampton sea front.

Stay safe everyone. Xxxxx

Looks very ominous but as said it seems to be East side plus a bit of south east . Hope all our members have evacuated or moved upstairs till it is passed. Fingers crossed for no fatalities where ever you live, damage to property can be repaired but not to yourself so take care if you live in the said areas xx

The BBC Newsite shows the damage to Cromer pier and beach huts.

I know my daughter caught caught in the snow and sleet when riding her bike home from work in London last week. But we have lived in Scotland and the North of England so we are used to snow and ice which can last for weeks.
