Very scary ....Thinking the same that everyone is safe
Very frightening, and those after shocks must be really unsettling - just hope everyone's alright.
I saw the headlines this morning, and news of a following tsunami. I hope everyone is safe.
Radio in overdrive one death ,casualties, tsunami warning downgraded,Wellington out of action,
Awful, crossing fingers for best possible outcome of a dreadful occurrence.
I know you are in NZ, Seaforth...must have been a bit scary. Hope you are OK.
The BBC news website has some photos of the damage....great cracks down the middle of the road .
It must have been very frightening ....people drove their families to high ground to get away from the tsunami .
We had a minor tremor here a few years ago which woke me and the neighbours up and that was bad enough.
That must have been really scary. Didn't know they had big earthquakes in NZ. I experienced one once in Greece. Was sitting on the bog about 7 am and suddenly it started shaking from side to side. I thought it was me! Hope the casualties are kept to a minimum. Take care. x
We are still getting over the Christchurch quake from six years ago. Yes we do get some big ones and the boffins tell us that the big one is yet to come. Not a good feeling
pmsl @ sitting on the bog did that cause the earthquake lol
Oh dear, that is terrible. Are you likely to be anywhere near the tsunami?
You're in a beautiful country but this must have been so frightening. Terrifying. I do hope you and your family are all right. x
Here's hoping the aftershocks are settling down. I do worry whenever I hear about earthquakes for nothing can beat or handle Nature at times like this, no matter how well you try to be prepared. A friend in Italy has just gone through a similar experience. Our planet is very unsettled.
Keep safe Seaforth, you and yours.
Glad you're safe. Hope casualties at a minimum. Earthquakes so scary. Hope aftershocks settle down soon. Take care Seaforth
Woke hubby up, but I slept through it. Had a tsunami alert, but luckily we were ok in Bay of Plenty. Feeling sad for those affected. x Sue
Look after yourself Seaforth. x
