Hello Fred, it's nice to meet you and welcome to the forum. I don't have the same health problems as you, but hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question soon. I just wanted to say hello! Tee x
Hi Fred,
I understand it is mainly used by people with Cystic Fibrosis, but I was prescribed it to help with my own Mucus clearing problems, which I do each morning.
I have Asbestosis and also diagnosed with Bronchiestasis last year.
I don't have the same health problems as you Fazool so I just want to say welcome to the forum x

Can't help with your query Fred; hello and welcome to the site.
Welcome to this forum,
I have Bronchiectasis. The saline solution is used to thin the mucus in the lungs, making it easier to cough up. Saline solution is also used for people who have cystic Fibrosis.
I use it once a day, by way of my nebulizer. I find, if I use it more than once a day, my mucus gets too thin, then it's like trying to cough up cobwebs and I get a lot of crackling in my lungs. I also use a decongestion OTC med, such as Mucinex, some times to help, so I'm careful about using the saline solution as well. I just monitor those meds on a day to day basis.
