Had hospital assessment today first one had 4 lots of breathing test and have been advised that I am to go back on steroids for a week and then change inhalers instead of taking 4 at numerous times a day I am going on 2 twice a day plus my salbutamol hopefully this may sort out my sob

I wish you all you wish for yourself. Two twice a day sounds a lot better than the four you are on. All the very best, and I hope it works for you.

Hello Jeanjt - I refused to take Steroids, after I found they put my weight up, increased bulk + inc pressure on my diaphragm!

Now I Use my VICKS Nasal Inhaler - it really clears my tubes and helps my lungs for breathing. It works better on dry nasal passages!

I do also have my prescribed Spiriva Respimat which is use when I feel absolutely necessary!

Sorry but I do know my own body better than my GP does. If I get clogged up, I bend down (again diaphragm pressure) have a good cough and nose blow, dispose of the mucus filled tissues and then I can breathe clearly again for a long time!

I take no prescribed meds now except Levothyroxine for Autoimmune Hypothyroidism + Vit D3.

I do not use aerosols in my home either, unless all windows and doors are open!

OK, I'm unconventional, but it works for me!

2 weeks ago I saw my .Haemo specialist - he listened to my lungs from front and back, pressed my tummy on the liver area ( I have both a blood disorder and unspecified Cirrhosis). When exam completed, he stood up and said Very good! He was pleased with both areas of my body as no evidence of problems in either area, when 2 year ago he was concerned I had Portal Hypertension. Hep Specialist Had put me on Steroids - they didn't agree with me and/or my Levothroxine! So I stopped taking them even after changing make!

I now always go with my "gut instinct" - and what works for me! More oxygen in my system has also helped my blood cell count and quality, because they carry oxygen around the body!

I'm not medically qualified - just done a lot of Internet research also into my own health history!
