Thank you so much.c.o.p.d. is also frustrating in its entirety. The patient does all they can to listen to advice, always eager to listen the experiences of other sufferers. They exercise, to their optimum, a good diet, sleep well, take medications as required, yet still this insidious disease creeps up, on them.I nursed my late Husband through end stage with other Co_Morbidities.I'm a trained respiratory Nurse.I'm newly diagnosed with mild co.o.p.d. Guess what, I was angry and Yes, frightened too.I've never smoked, however a half of sufferers have never smoked.Any progress on this Disease will be embraced , and give hope to so many.To all who might read this, I wish you all the very best.It really is a great Group of lovely people, Xx .

As a respiratory nurse you will know that mild COPD is a warning, certainly not a death sentence. Many, many people given this warning change their lifestyles and live to a ripe old age before eventually dying of something completely unconnected. And this is despite whether or not anyone has smoked, though I certainly don't think a distinction should be made between the two groups as neither are deserving of contracting a disease and both experience it the same. COPD is not fun but we can all fight to do the best we can and those diagnosed at the mild stage are very, very lucky.

Hello and welcome.

Toci's right.

I'm sorry about your husband, and sorry that you were angry and frightened. I hope that will ease with time.

We have had a couple of people posting about improvements in their lung function tests after changes in diet and loads of exercise. Anything's possible! Look after yourself.

I agree with Toci and many people live a long life with copd and other lung diseases but it must have been hard to see your husband as he was. I do hope you enjoy being on HU 19441934 and it is nice to have you as a member. Take care xxxx

There's great advice and good humour so when you do feel angry or frightened it's a good place to be to regain some hope and get a smile on your face.
