It takes time to feel the benefit of stopping smoking but well worth the wait. Sure you will feel much better when your chest is clear of infection. Any questions you ask on here will be met by members trying to help. Try to stop worrying and take care of yourself. Joyce.

11 days? I found it got worse before it got better! yes you get over the nicotine withdrawal quickly but then your body has to get used to not having the chemicals in your body, tar, arsenic etc. You body then starts "waking up" from those chemicals which paralyse the nodules in your throat and lungs (they are added in order to let your body accept the toxins in ciggies) I found myself coughing, almost choking when I ate an every little thing irritated my throat. It took a while but it will get better. Stay with it, you will feel better it just takes a while
p.s A pharmacist explained this to me
