Hi

Oramorph can help with breathlessness typical dose,1.25m four times a day.

Do not exceed recommended dose given by your GP.

Very helpful information, as usual, Stone.

Will enquire about Oramorph with the Consultant at Harefield on my next appointment.

Hi Jonny and welcome to HU. I have Bronchiectasis not COPD but often suffer from breathlessness as well. I've never taken Oramorph but have seen it mentioned here very often. From what I've read on comments here, people seem to find it helpful and I hope you find it helpful too.

Hi Jonny

Welcome.

Stone gave good advice about not exceeding dose GP prescribed. If you still drive then you need to check if you are allowed to when taking Oramorph.

Regards

Andy

Hi

Although you can drive, Oramorph can cause drowsiness in which case you should not driver or operate machinery.

Oramorth and lorazepam (I take both) are on the list of banned drugs for driving. So it is crucial you don't change the recommended dosage.

Hi, Oramorph is very strong and can make you drowsy. It is usually very good at helpung breathlessness. I also found it was a great cough suppressant too.

Good luck.

I just read up on this and it does relieve breathlessness..since it does relieve a bad side effect of COPD then why isn't it prescribed more often?
