Hi, I smoked thirty roll-ups a day for thirty five years. Gave that up with an e-cig which I still use. I'm in Pulmonary Rehab twice a week which I find helpful so I've bought my own oximeter/pulse rate monitor and weights. I know that COPD is irreversible but muscles can be trained to use oxygen more efficiently.
Anybody else here undergoing PR and still using an e-cig?

Hi, I have just finished a pr course and enjoyed it. I also smoked roll ups till diagnosed in march this year, I'm using patches and gum and feeling a lot better, though must admit I have given into temptation a few times lol. Have you found giving up easy using the ecig?
I was diagnosed in Feb but haven't had rehab but have been using an ecig for over 2 years (my nurse is fine with it). I try to walk around a mile a day in my lunch hour and started including bridges which is tough some
I smoked heavily for over 40 years and switched to an ecig with no problem. i told myself it was that or nothing.
days but the more I do, the more I can do if that makes sense
I eventually gave up smoking by using patches off and o for about 3 years! I still have a drawer full and they are stlll on my script.
A few weeks ago I had a real wobble (look back at my posts)
I have to be honest, I have felt worse since giving up roll ups, I really do miss smoking and my so called quality of life is so crap at present I am very tempted. Maybe if I had given up 50 odd years ago I would feel the benefit - at the moment think I would rather wheeze & be able to walk more than a few steps.
I did try 1 drag on an e/cig about 5 years ago- I coughed immediately on it - now roll ups ...mmmmmm I don't cough, well I don't know about now.
I have heard that a lot of people are worse when they 1st give up but obviously long term-much better.
At the start of giving up (nearly five years ago) I tried an e-cig but couldn't get on with them. A few months later my head was in the right place and I just stopped - 40 a day to nowt between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Hi Lightclock, i used to smoke for 14 years then gave up because my husband got lung disease( he never smoked). So i gave up about 3 years ago and started e-cigs, nicotine free. But reading the ingredients of oil for e cig, i ll say that they are very bad for lungs too.
