What exactly does low liver function mean, my doctor told me yesterday that I am the only patient she has ever Sean with low liver function n she's been a doctor for a lot of years and also means no one else who attends my practice has it. As well as low function it's enlarged please some one tell me what's wrong with it xxxx is it just lazy.

Hi Treewade, How ridiculous! Your GP should have explained what this means, not left you to worry about it. Go back and insist that she explains it properly including any treatment that you may need. That's what you pay her wages for.

I ve been referred to a specialist but that's after I don't know how many low results think it's been years they are so used to seeing hi results but even good old Google doesn't say much about low function she honestly goes to know but neither do any one at practice as my body is crap at absorbing Vitamins they sent me to a liver specialist who is going to use a special scan in a couple of months but for now I don't know anything xxxxx

I'm glad that you are going to see a specialist. Make sure that they give you the answers that you need. Try not to panic. You have been living with it long enough. Funnily enough, I can't absorb viramins either and my liver results are always low. I am currently taking high doses of vit D prescribed by the GP and high dose sublingual vit B12 prescribed by myself because my blood tests are not low enough on the GPs scale to warrant treatment and I reckon that they are. My breathing has definitely eased up which I suspect is the B12. My GP doesn't seem bothered by my low liver results. I would be interested to know the results of your scan. xx

Sorry to but in Stillstanding63, but what is " sublingual vitamin B12 "?

Thank you.

in reply toSquirrelsHolt

Hi, it's vitamin in a form that you can take under your tongue like drops or suck. It goes in through the tissues in the mouth and you don't have to rely on it being absorbed through the gut.
