Bit Ga-Ga Actually...

I do so swear my brain has turned to mush...three times I watched a video this morning on an art technique which is new to me...

It's incredibly simple...doesn't involve doing any complicated sums and algebra is nowhere to be seen...

Off to my shed this afternoon to have a go...I was all fired up and enthusiastic...cleared the work top...swore at Eilis for barking to come in...she changes her mind if I don't have the heater on and wants to go out again...put what I needed out and away I went.

It didn't work...I was so puzzled and frustrated...tried again...nope.

Counted to ten and had another go...

Came indoors and watched the video again and felt like such an eejit...for crying out loud, no wonder it wasn't working the way I was doing it...

So what happened...or didn't happen I suppose...why didn't my brain gather up the information and save it, that's what I'd like to know.

I'm not really in my dotage, even if I look ancient...can still do crossword puzzles and when we had a television I could answer some of the questions on University Challenge...not many...just a few.

Why is my head suddenly being picky...how is it I can recall the collective noun for a group of crows...it's a 'murder' in case you didn't know, but I'm sure you did...but completely forgot you have to ink the embossing folder...not the paper.

Something else...I can spell totally obscure words...not a bother...but when it comes to plain and ordinary words there are times when I sit here and how to spell 'field' for instance has me totally bewildered...

Blame it on the steroids actually...

Hello Vashti, I think you should give your self a pat on the back for having a go😊

Some times, quite often in fact I can't remember what day it is... even losing a day here and there.. maybe it's the oxygen or lack of it getting to our grey matter lol!😉xxx huff 😁

in reply tohufferpuffer

Hello Hufferpuffer...I like trying out something different...just can't grasp the ins and the outs as well as I used to...

Thought the oxygen was good for the brain...perhaps we're not getting enough! lol

in reply toTitchy52

Hello Titchy...I've been known to come back from my shed to have another look then back again repeating something obscure like...'ink on the left side' or 'pale tones first'...Himself gives me very odd looks sometimes!

I forget how to spell simple words, in fact I forget what word I want. I tail off mid conversation because I have lost what I am talking about. I am forever searching for 'stuff' but then forget what it is I seek. I blame, age, copd, thyroid etc, medication, Dave. Who or what comes into mind really. X

poor Dave how is it his fault us poor men get the blame for everything

It might becthat the part of the brain which originally learnt those simple words is decommissionimg, whilst more complex words - which would have been learned later in life - is still very active and even growing! Not a problem, very natural.

in reply toBernardbreather

Bernard, that seems a logical reason...I like it!
