Hi, could you let me know what you think about these lung function results please?

I suffer with breathlessness and desaturation, with no diagnosis. Ct scan is clear.

Thank you , Gwen x

Hi Gwen,  sorry I can't help but someone will be along soon who has the ability to read your chart. Your GP or respiratory nurse should be able to advise you what it all means.

In the meantime, take care of yourself & let us know how you get on 💐

Hi Gwen, the results indicate that your ventilatory functions are totally normal (excellent), but your gas diffusion is mildly reduced form what is considered normal  (indicated by TLCO).  There are different reasons for reduction of TLCO and may not necessarily involve lung aveoli.  The reduced TLCO is only mildly reduced so would not be expected to lead to extreme breathlessness/desaturation.  Please speak to your dr (unless your GP is very clued in you should see a pulmo who can refer to other specialists if required) about possible reasons of reduced TLCO and your breathlessness (which may be unrelated to the TLCO).    Also, your haemoglobin level is perfect!  I hope you can find out why you feel breathless and it can be improved.   Take carexx

Thank you so much! I wonder if it's my heart causing the breathlessness and desaturation, rather than my lungs? Thank you for your replies x
