Absolutely nothing to do with lungs I know but I was excited to share my results 94% Great Britain 6% the rest of Europe, Scandinavia Italy and Greece. Of course its much more complicated than that but thats the general gist.

It only tells me where in the world my family hail from thats all, I trace family trees so it interests me. Its taken weeks to get the results.

Oh I see so obviously that's exciting for you. I guess it depends on how far in history you go back as this little island has been conquered so many times over the years... x

I really fancy getting my DNA done, people tell me I may have a tiny bit of Chinese in me because of my total intolerance to alcohol, apparently Chinese people are not very good with alchole, I can be totally drunk on half a glass of wine, and as for whisky I either full asleep or want to start a row, but how great to know you've a little bit of Italy, Greece, and Nordic in you kimmy xxxx

Kimmy, that's very interesting! I didn't realise that could be done.

My sister is in the process of tracing our family tree. It takes as great deal of research as you will know, but she loves doing it.

I must mention to her about your DNA results.

Thanks for sharing 🌷

Results took about 8 weeks through Ancestry, only bit I didn't like was having to spit in a pot think we would be used to that wouldn't you.

Hahaha! Never used to that! 😂

I'm sure my sister uses that site. Must ask her.

She's actually in the process of tracing a childhood friend of mine. I happened to mention to her that I often wondered where my friend had gone.

She's getting closer after having traced my friend's parents & grandparents, husbands etc.

She's actually led quite a tragic life & I hope to be in touch with her again one day soon. 💐

Hi kimmy, you'll find out that many people don't give a hoot about DNA. I think it's the most exciting thing ever!

We had a mystery in my family with murders, orphans, and some mixing of the races, (taboo in the mid 1800's). I had mine done, being so curious about family connections...and whenever I began to tell my results, many people just could not care a bit. Did not know anything about DNA and wasn't interested at all.

It's a funny thing about that stuff, I read everything I can about the newest DNA results on ancient people. Like the iceman, King Tut, etc...and find it fascinating. But have given up if someone's not heard about it by now; they never really cared anyway.

Well, sorry to have carried on, can't sleep. But glad to hear you're as excited as I have been about your results.

Oh, in the end; remember... we're all cousins.

What a great story, did anyone video it? My face turns bright red too, not in a ladylike glow, more a scarlet rage, not a fetching look, anyway Hubbie is pleased because I'm always the driver and a cheap date😎🙃

So a Little Viking and a Roman with a little bit of Greek trader thrown in, Fits in with our history well.

I forget my little bit of Irish I'm very proud of that. I only did it for a laugh anyway, my lot obviously didn't travel far everything is in Europe.

People were smaller in the roman times but I did mean percentage little not people little. It was only the well fed that would be usually taller

Hi, must have overlooked this sorry. I find it all fascinating. I use Ancestry & been considering having a DNA profile done. My mum thought we may have come from Scandinavia, lots of red hair in the family, pale skin that does not tolerate too much heat & sun. My late Aunt married an American, she hardly seemed to be outdoors, only from an air conditioned building to the car. The Roman Army were from all over Europe And Africa, so we have interesting potential ancestors. X

in reply toscorpiolass

Yes scorpiolass. ..your right...the Roman army was made up of people's from all over... meny of them would settled there..once they had done 20 years of service that where given Roman citeznshipe and we're free to go where they wanted..there would have also been meny traders from all parts of the world who would of had lots of fun there☺

All the army officers had to of been Roman.

DNA doesn't mean very much..2.000 years ago I could of been a100% Zulu but now most of my family have fair hair and blue eyes...one has green eyes.

I know that there was Greeks who settled in meny parts of world and settled there..meny where teachers and traders.

Most of important Roman families would of had Greeks teaching thier children.

End of history lesson

and on with the day.

We may be cousins but for sure we not all friends 😆

Its worth having a go. It does go into great detail, and I'm fascinated by anything history. We have a couple of olive skinned with very dark hair, which makes sense as we have the Italy/ Greece trace region, all very interesting.
