Just thought I would let you know that I have just had my annual check up and although my FEV has gotten worse (73%) I feel fine, as long as I look after myself and know my limits.

Sorry your fev1 has dropped a bit, but 73% is still pretty good. Mine is about the same and I can still lead a fairly normal life and I am sure some of my lack of energy is down to age (I am 62 now). What stops me more is my chronic bad back! x
Hi coughalot, I know what you mean I am 65 in Sept
Well you are doing better than me then! I always remember what the doctor told me - something else would get me first before the copd, and that would be old age. I find that very comforting x
Hi Coughalot2, just wondered if you were able to get the results of your recent spirometry?
Hi ,73 is pretty good ,a few years ago I was 63 ,,,,with pulmary help i got up to 74 on last tests, I think we have to know our limitations thats the secret ,,,,,trouble is when we are having a good day ,,,,we tend to over do it ,,,,,
I have my test on 24 th March ,,,,,after a bout of pneumonia and pleurisy in December/January,,,,,I'm not expecting such good numbers , I'm now another year older to ,,,,( aged 70 now )
my fev is 41,i`m 76 ,and as long as i don`t over exert mysel;f i`m ok
My Fev varies between 65 and 75. I'm 82 and not out!!!
Great attitude - that's such a big help with COPD x
