Hello and welcome.
Hi and welcome
Hi Teresa, in a manner I feel sorry for you having to join this site, but also to let you know, this site is full of so much advice from those suffering from this disease. You will find that most people here have had many experiences in medication changes and symptoms and most importantly, can advise in helping you cope with the day to day management. Please do not hesitate in coming to this site for advice or even to chat. People on here have given me the will that thousands can adapt to, help and share whatever positive advice we can.
Main thing is, do realise you cannot get rid of this, but certainly you can manage this.
Hope to hear something positive from yourself soon, remember, you are not alone !
Welcome Teresajane91,
It's lovely to have you with us. So many wonderful people here with so much knowledge about copd - you will never feel alone, whatever time of day or night.
Jennifer
Have they checked you for alpha one antitrypsin deficency? It's a simple blood test you might want to ask they rule this genetic condition out, your very young and that's usually a red flag for something more than Copd, I was 45 when I was diagnosed with alpha one, go to alpha 1 foundation on the net it will give you all info, if you need further help on this let us know, it's worth ruling this condition out.
Hi
I'm 41 and not had a diagnosis yet but I'm in the process of trying to get one! I'm on fostair since last winter and currently on my second lot of steroids and antibiotics this winter. I've had spirometry tests last year but then just given the inhaler and no formal diagnosis. I will ask for a blood test next time i go to the Drs but if this is present is it different to COPD or does it just cause it?
Thanks x
Yes I am being checked also, with blood test
