Hello everyone everyone im ben I keep getting pain in my lungs and bringing up mucus had to call amblence as thought I was having a heart attack but all clear chest is clear im taking paracetamol but not helping any ideas for the pain thank you

Hello Ben, sorry about your symptoms. Sorry things were so bad you had to call an ambulance. But - were you just told everything was clear? No thoughts from anyone about what might be going on?? Suggest you phone your GP while they're still open because they know about you and are in the best position to advise.

With COPD, particularly severe COPD our lungs can hyperinflate and this can cause chest pain as there's not a lot of room in our chest cavity. Healthy lungs take up most of the space in there.

It's good that you're able to bring up that mucus. It's certainly better out than in.

I had something similar not long ago. It was just in one lung. Got to the point where I nearly rang an ambulance as well, couldn't lie down because it hurt and couldn't breathe in and out without it hurting. Turns out my lung was just inflamed. Went after about a week, doctor prescribed anti inflammatory. Hope this helps
