copd and moving house

I am hoping to move house and finding it near impossible, to clean and pack etc.. obviously could not move out in one day !! Is there anyone who offers a service to help, perhaps DLA in Scotland. Have no friends and my parents are elderly.

If you are having a removal firm, some offer a packing service also...but it will be expensive.

As Sherry has suggested, ask age concern, social services or citizens advice.

I got a removal service to move me in March last year they pack the things for you but you have to un pack yourself and they charge for that I agree with the others and phone social services good luck in your move

I moved a few years ago and the removal company packed for me - didn't help with unpacking but I could take my time over that. One of the cleaning companies (or maybe AgeUK home helps) would probably clean the house as you move out, and the new one you move into - they will do a one-off clean. Unfortunately this will add more cost to the move but well worth it!

Thanks, I will not need a removal company and I am young so do not qualify for age ok. As usual the young with copd get less help. Not sure who social services are. Quite agree about the cleaner, hopefully as I am trying to buy a new house which will be much easier to manage and much cheaper to run, they will give me a few days to move so I can take my time. Thanks
