My husband was diagnosed last summer. He just did a sleep study - what is this for ? He is currently on nasal spray but that is it. He has multiple benign nodules on his lungs. I am confused, can these change to malignant ? Thank you !

Sarcoidosis Update
Hi I don't know but would guess it's to see if he has sleep apnoea. It is more common with lung problems. x
Hi, my hubby has had sarcoidosis for 24 years and had many tests including sleep studies over the years. As Coughalot2 says it is to check for sleep apnoea. Pete has scarring on his lungs but everything is benign. Check with your GP if you have any concerns. Lots of info on BLF site too.

Sassy,
Thank you so much ! Your reply is so encouraging ! I am relieved to read it ! I do not think he has sleep apnea. I am really very thankful for your reply !
LISA ☺️
Hi Lisa, you are welcome. I am not an expert but have lived with this disease alongisde Pete for a very long time. Things can be very daunting at first but you are now on this wonderful site so will get lots of help, support and encouragement. I hope that things improve for your husband as that is possible with sarc.
Take care xxxx
The study is to ascertain if, when sleeping , your husband is breathing in the right amount of oxygen and disposing of his carbon dioxide sufficiently.
I suffered from sarcoidosis and my quality of sleep was poor, I often woke up with bad headaches.
My sleep study revealed I was suffering from mild Sleep Apnea, the headaches being caused by poor dispersal of carbon dioxide.
I was given a CPAP machine to help my sleep - initially it took some getting use to but now I would not be without it. My quality of sleep has improved and my
headaches reduced considerably.
Kind regards
Michael
