Hi the chemist should sell different sizes, or you might get them on prescription. Otherwise why not order them online? x
Just googled Amazon and there are lots on there. x
Have you seen your GP about your knees Shirley?
I'm only asking because about 5 years ago I kna***red one of mine on the WI-Fit , trying to beat my Grandson's score on the hula-hoop one....I know it says if it hurts stop! However I didn't & caused a torn cartilage I have had a few injections in it & it's so much better, still plays up now & then. I got a large knee support from Aldi & it was too small & I'm size 12/14 . Hope you find something to help, I know how hard it is to cope with painful knees ,
Kay x
I suddenly had a very pain ful knee - not usual arthritis. GP said torn ligaments - called degenerative ..... ligaments. due to age and ligaments getting dry and tearing. He said it can happen just getting out chair. He said to keep walking and exercising. I think you should see your GP as there many causes of knee pain. I hope you find out the cause. Kaye
My partner has problems and pain from her knees. I got her on Turmeric capsules and monitored the situation and she says they have definitely improved. Why don't you Google it? Good luck!
I've used close fitting jeans with elastane in as a sort of whole leg semi-splint - enables your knees to bend but not excessively. It takes a while to find the right pair, but when I do, I buy several.
Hi becraftygirl - I sympathise! I've also got big legs, and arthritis pain in both knees - one worse than the other, because I've had a knee replacement which helped. But I want to avoid surgery on the other one, so I use a knee brace for tai chi. Don't remember where I got it, but probably Amazon - there are loads, some go up to XXL - measure your knee circumference, you will find one to fit. For knee-friendly exercise, look at yoga, Pilates, and a stationery bike - you can do all those without straining your knees. Good luck!
Hi Becraftygirl, My husband has bad knees and was finding life a bit difficult, with pain and walking. He has had acupuncture, strong pain killers and heat pads, he was thinking that he needed knee replacements, I ordered him some knee supports, called Active 650, they are £29.99 each, and they have transformed his life, he can't believe how they have helped, he is walking and moving with less pain, hardly takes pain killers now. Google it and they really do all they say, and you have to measure your calfs as they come in different sizes. Hope this has helped, as any exercise ,big or small is so important when you have COPD. Xx
Hi Shirley
Firstly, l would see your GP, you should not be suffering so much and trying to deal with it yourself.
Your GP should be able to get you some physio if needed, and write you a prescription for support aids and pain relief.
Have you ever thought about swimming, its a gentle form of exercise, weight bearing, so your joints are not harmed
