Hi if your GP as run out of ideas and tried various medications then perhaps you need specialist help. Ask for a referral to a pain consultant. They will look at all aspects and give recommendations as to treatment. In my wife's case she went on a pain management course which was one day a week for 8 weeks. She found it very helpful not only for pain but for advice on pacing exercise etc.

Yes, I found that different pain killers stop being effective after a while. My latest combination, etodolac and cocodamol have been working very well for several years now, so fingers crossed they continue to do so.
