Boosting blood iron/hemoglobin levels - Help please.

I am in the unhappy position of having had cause diagnostic tests for my anemia and having to wait 4 weeks or more for the results. They will not give me anemia treatment until they get these results. This has been going on since 18th November '15. We have a holiday in Spain booked for 19th April and am facing the prospect of probably (almost certainly) needing to cancel it as I do not have the energy to walk far at all and I get really breathless.

Does anyone know how many 14mg lron tablets I should be taking please? I am 80 and suffer with asthma and bronchiectasis.

Can you not ring whoever ordered the tests and explain why you are anxious about getting the results? If they know the time constraints your travelling puts on you maybe it will hurry them along a little.
