Hi
If you meet the criteria you can claim PIP .
It is how you are affected by your condition rather than the condition itself.
There are two parts mobility and care.
Check out.
You are best to get help to complete the form from like you local CAB
You can claim PIP if you are between 16 and 64 it goes on how your condition affects your daily life not what condition you have or if you are older you can claim for Attendance Allowance
Hi , I also have the condition but also have MS, I get PIP, as I get breathless and tired after walking 50mtrs meaning I have to stop and rest frequently.
There are lots of websites that would guide you. Including BLF info page.
Good luck.
Hi JR. I've had Bronchiectasis since I was 2 years old, but never tried to claim anything until 3 years ago. I was then told that "immobility comes with age" (like they'd know) and unless your under 65 and need help with the most simple things, you don't have much hope. Good luck anyway, give it a go!
If in doubt..........CLAIM. Be sure to make your claim with the help of a person from CAB or other such helpful organisation, as the wording to the answers relative to the questions on the claim form is very important. Most people claiming P I P fill out their own forms and most get rejected.
I claimed for pip in 2013 due to my COPD and was turned down . I have applied for it again due to my breathing getting worse and also I have been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. And I need AIDS to help me with daily things like preparing food eating and drinking washing and bathing and you get points for using AIDS. Also I got the CAB to fill in the form for me so fingers crossed I will get it this time
Thanks for all your advice x
there is this for bronchiectasis too. bronchiectasis.info/
