Was going to go with my wife to walk the dog but she said it was too cold for me. Instead I did my exercises from pulmonary rehab. Looking at forecast tomorrow won't be much better so I guess I'll have to do them again.πŸ˜€

Hi Patani, a good idea not going out in the cold. Weather is too windy at the moment for me!

Take care 🌻

Not going out? Sensible decision. Doing your PR exercises? Another sensible decision. Treat yourself to a hot choc for being good! x

Cold is not just uncomfortable or difficult for breathing - it can also trigger flare-ups.

Last year our lead GP from our area respiratory education network sent an email round to copd patients telling us to avoid the cold for this reason. I didn't heed this and ended up very ill in hospital. Don't take chances, its just not worth it.

Good morning Sir,

As long as you are moving it is good for the lungs. I did not feel like going out this morning but my dog decreed otherwise, and although it is very windy and the clouds scudding along, the sun was shining in between and we actually dodged most of the squalls. Puffing well - both of us, when we got back home, and now sitting with a coffee watching the leaves whipping off the trees and the magpies scooping up the remains of last night's hedgehog dinners. My dog Merlin has arthritis in two of his legs, which makes him suffer when he stops moving, and I have the COPD so we are a good pair and well suited now because we both need to walk fairly slowly. Ah the joys of ageing.

A good day to you:-)

Just got back from doctors about some blood tests I had last week , sunshine was great but wind was so cold. Saw yet another new doctor. Most of appointment taken up with him reading up on my history. Outcome was that even though my levels in thiophyllin were a bit low as long as my chest was OK there was no need to up the dosage of Uniphyllin.😁
