Interesting, especially the mention of Vit C, bioflavonoids & rutin thanks. Never mind the mention of Dr Mercola at the bottom!! 😜

Hello peege. I have read of Dr Mercola and he seems to have made a very tidy sum from selling supplements through his website. So I think it best to view what he says with a healthy suspicion! Unfortunately Some people are gullible swallow it all without question. But that doesnt mean hes always wrong and as you say this sounds worth looking into. So Gerald, thank you for this article, Robin

It's an article by Dr Mercola lifted from mercola, com, and I recall Graham getting considerable stick for quoting the disreputable Dr Mercola not so long ago.

Nothing personal about that presumably, so be warned Gerald . . .

I use arnica cream rubbed into the bruise to help it heal more quickly.

in reply to Ergendl

Have you ever tried Hirudoid Cream? I use it to quickly heal bruises. But it doesn't stop bruising which I do very easily.

I hadn't heard of Hirudoid cream before - is it something mainly available in Australia?

In the nursing home I worked in that was the ointment of choice by the doctors for the residents. For as long as I can remember. But I think the ointment is a little expensive unless the GP prescribes it .

I have suffered from this for years Doctors don't know why, they don't cause any pain just look unsightly

in reply to onamission

onamission, I think perfectly healthy people become prone to bruising as they age.

No I didn't have cancer I was then sent to a specialist who was as must use as an ashtray on a motor bike he tested for lupus and said he thought it was steroids but it started a long time before I took steroids. The bruise's don't hurt just look unsightly someone thought I was about 70 plus because I was covered in them

I try to avoid bumping my arms especially. if your over 55 taking steroidal medications (I was on prednisolone) your bound to bruise easily.
