This is almost unbelievable, the other day, I parked my vehicle outside a Chemist shop , using my Blue Badge, , to pick up a prescription. On leaving the shop, I noticed a Traffic Warden ON HIS HANDS AND FEET , WITH A TAPE MEASURE - measuring the gap between the front tyres of my vehicle , and the white line. I stood there , hardly believing what I was seeing, he then rose to his feet, issued me with a Ticket, on asking what on earth ( quite literally) was he doing , he said = " AS I WAS THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH OVER THE WHITE LINE, I WAS ILLEGALLY PARKED " I naturally said " This is utterly ridiculous and right over the top - you must be desperate to issue tickets , he just replied = " THE MORE I BOOK, THE MORE I GET PAID "
- Having watched that TV programme on " ROGUE TRAFFIC WARDENS " some time ago, who admitted OFF CAMERA they will use ANY method to increase their wages , What more proof do we need of this admission ? .....

Report him and appeal, that jobsworth needs bringing down to earth. I met a bus driver like him once, I stood my ground, reported him and won the day. These bullies get away with things to often and are shocked when they are challenged and stood up to.
Shame you didn't have a camera, that idiot could have been shown up on TV or you/tube etc.
How ridiculous. Trouble is though traffic wardens are under pressure to book as many as possible to raise money for the council and they have targets. If they fail to reach them they are disciplined and eventually sacked. It's less jobsworth wardens than greedy councils. x
If you park over the white line in my local car park, you get a fine...thing is now fewer and fewer people park there and the shops suffer. I have never seen a tape measure used though, and you would think the traffic warden would use his discretion ....money money money
hi I don't understand how they can do that, up here with blue badge you can virtually park any where for unlimited time. can park on double yellow lines as long as no markings on kerb or if kerb is lowered for wheelchair users.

That's awful! I've never come across problems like that. Here in Scotland we can even park on double yellow lines. That's beaurocracy gone mad!😀
it's blooming ridiculous, especially as they know you are going to contest it (I would anyway) so why waste the time in the first place????????

Where I am you will get a ticket if you're parked on the lines. As was explained to me, the lines are there for you to park between, not for you to park on or over them. It makes it difficult for people in the next disabled parking bay if they're using a wheelchair and you are parked over the lines. A person with a wheelchair needs all the space available to them.
Absolutely right ! , I agree with you, - BUT THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH is pushing it a bit, - and if we take this to its logical conclusion, we will have Traffic Wardens carrying MICROMETERS so they can measure FRACTIONS OF AN INCH OVER THE LINE ! - STILL ILLEGAL ! ,so if a Warden is intent on booking you to increase his income come what may, then the smallest fraction of an inch is in his favour ! Even Traffic Police use a certain amount of Discretion , but then , their " BOOKINGS " don't INCREASE THEIR WAGES ! .......
My son has just received a ticket for stopping in a box grid,the video of evidence won,t play and stills obviously prove nothing.This could end up in the European court,Tory councils trying to steal our money.Bring it on!!! D. 💪🏼
If you dont have a camera phone you should have a tape measure and a camera in your car. Only needs to be a cheap one. It could save you hundreds of pounds if there is an accident. Like when my car was driven into while it was parked. 3 photos for the insurance showed my car fully within a disabled bay. Insurance instant pay.
Ah. good thinking, ! and while I'me at it - will take a photograph of the next "Traffic Warden " on his knees for the Local paper - should bring in some interesting comments ! ......
You have to be a mean kill joy to be a warden I would report him I would of also asked him did he have such a small penis that made him so twisted and nasty
The positive result of this is that we will all be careful to park between the lines of our parking bays. The wheelchair disabled person who might park in the bay beside us will thank us for our consideration.
