Hi everyone, my dear friend has severe copd - she's due to come out of hospital soon but her lungs are failing and she will need to be aided by a machine - she's on oxygen 24:7 - I don't know what to expect - I live too far away to help - the news has really hit me hard

Sorry I am unable to help you with your query. I just want to say how lucky your friend is to have someone who cares so much about her. Hope your friend manages to cope well when she comes out of hospital and gets all the help she needs.

So sorry to hear about your dear friend but I am sure you can offer your support and continued friendship. It is hard when things like this happen but she is lucky to have a good friend like you. I cannot offer advice but hope someone else can.

Hi I am so sorry about your friend....social services liaising with the hospital should put in a package of care if it is needed when she goes home. I would contact the hospital to check....that would help put your mind at rest too.
