Good sunny morning everyone. Does anyone fancy a slow stroll across to St Michael's Mount. It's a lovely warm sunny day, we can have a nice cuppa and a clotted cream scone in the little cafe when we arrive. Who's up for it?
Have a lovely day everyone.

Yay, well done Suzy...we should have a lovely time. I'm not sure of the climb up to the top of the castle, but we can all gaze at it in the sunshine with clotted cream all over our faces....lol xxx
My Hubby lived in Teignmouth for some years when he was in his teens. So we had lots of Devon holidays and he knew the place like the back of his hand. I have some wonderful memories of some great times there. xxx
I love St Michaels Mount - what a fantastic picture. Have a great day - wish I was there!! xxx
Sounds wonderful - be there very soon. Don't eat all the scones Lyn, I shall definitely need them after that climb to the cafe lol. Yes, I know the area very well, my uncle was a light house keeper at nearby Pendeen - the stories I could tell of my long summer holidays there ππ. xxx
Fab...all the more the merrier. How interesting about your uncle...when we get across to the Mount, you can tell me some stories Jan...I'd love that. Now settle hubby down and get back here as soon as you can. xxx
Just having coffee then off to the garden centre to order top soil!!!!! Our new bungalow only has a small garden but the "soil" is really builder's rubble so it drastically needs attention. ππ. I shall have to join you and Fred for the second shift lol. xxx
That will be great Jan...more scones for me then. lol. I love visiting gardening centres...they have so much there these days and with all the flowers in bloom at the moment, it's so tempting to buy them. I always manage to hold out until the end of May, then that's it....bedding plants are in the pots and they completely transform the garden. xxx
me me me ..... oh I can't I am on a diet beautiful shot
No you're not...dragging you by the arm...no diets for us today. I'll buy you an ice cream to replace the one I pinched of you yesterday. See how nice I am really.......................then we can have scones. lol xxx
Right I know my place Lyn just as I am about to leave for a game of golf you come up with the idea of a walk across to the mount, I know by the time I get back the tide will be in and you will all be out there eating all the scones and cream. Oh well hope you all enjoy the trip xxx
Right I am back missed the tide but getting a boat, no way am I missing that sleep over with all you lot, I just hope you don't make me blush with some of the stories you will be telling, as I have delicate ears remember, I am an ex sailor. xxx ps any one else miss the tide and want a lift hop aboard we sail in ten minutes. xxx
Had a really good game and good company as John was my ex boss when I worked with the police and is a really good friend as well as a good golfer, the weather was perfect short sleeves was the dress of the day and we had the course to ourselves as such. And I believe the exercise was good, just what I needed. On a different note what wonderful news about Megan, so happy for her. Now what do I do with this sleeping bag as I take it now that the sleep over has been called off lol xxx
Grabbing the sweets...oops I mean grabbing your arm lol....come on then Mandy...yep you can come too. We can all sit out in the sunshine when we get over there and enjoy the beautiful views. xxx
Im going to sit on a rock and treat myself to some new clothes because i dont you about you guys but my weight has been such a problem nothing fits me so i will share a site i found a while ago...if you dont already know it everything on this site is Β£5.....its amazing value x x x x
i bought a winter coat from them ...fully lined it was unbelievable...you can get everything,,tops,,dresses,,trousers,,jeans, coats...shoes galore .some mens things....everything and some are x branded stores that we all know.
Most of my clothes dont fit me but for 5 pound if your weight changes its no big loss. x x x
I did that walk a few years ago Lyn. The tide caught us and as I don't swim very well I was really scared. The water was well almost up to my waist at one point. there were lots of people crossing but nobody else seemed too bothered. Luckily it was a hot day and our clothes dried quickly. I loved the castle and yes the cream teas! Beautiful! xx
I can imagine that was quite scary. Me and Hubby used to watch the people trying to get across as the tide was going out. Some made it and some found it a struggle and had to come back. It's a lovely place isn't it. I have some wonderful memories of our holidays there. We used to stay at the Godolphin Arms directly oposite. It was fabulous. xxx
That takes me back. I remember going to St Michaels Mount years ago when I could walk without problem, still have the pictures of me sitting on a cannon if memory serves.
Im bit late but running to catch you all up Lyn. Love St. Michael's mount - just hope the tide's right, then when I'm over there it can come up and we will stranded there making merry with our scones and clotted cream.
Grabbing you aboard....never too late for you hon and yep that would be good if we were stranded there. Hopefully someone in one of the nice little cottages there will take us in for the evening. Now that would be fun. xxx
I am on my way ladies save a space for my sleeping bag for the sleep over that 02 was talking about. I once was drafted to redesign the training manual for WREN'S when they had their own establishment and I was the only male on the whole camp, I was posted there for 3 months that was a real eye opener, believe me. xxx
Ahhhh, U all coming to visit me in my house on the hill π, Ull have to bring the tea and scones it's the servants day off.... Lovely pic jolyn . Xx sonia xx
Morning Lyn, What a wonderful idea, count me in. From the response to your post, I can see because of the amount of people wanting to join you, It's going to be a job to beat the tide. Maybe we could do our King Canute bit. Such wonderful memories of The Mount especially when our children were small, Happy days, Best wishes, Bulpit
Thank you I hope to move back to my beloved Cornwall, back to my roots in June - thank you for reminding me just how beautiful she is - maybe we could meet up one day in the future? xxx
