You haven't said anything to offend me Mike. I don't find the word b....y offensive. However I suppose it is wise to do as I have just done and use the beginning and end letter. Doesn't seem to bother people so much. Hope you keep posting

It was a good joke but swearing is not acceptable on a site full of strangers even a 'mild' one like 'bl....y. I am offended by it and know others who are too. Would you walk into a room full of strangers and start using language like that? I wouldn't! Maybe I am behind the times but many older folk like me don't like it.

It appears that using the word bl---dy is somewhat offensive. That doesn't make someone petty minded, if it offends them. Its best to think about that,when you write a post. I really don't think you should refer to anyone on this site, as petty minded. Not nice Mike.

The whole issue of swearing is so interesting, I've got friends in colder climes where the very worst swear word is something in our culture we might use as a term of endearment, where the very worst word in our culture may irritate, but certainly not start a fight. Years ago we were friends with a Mouri and she would say 's..t' as a way of highlighting something that was being said, this delighted my daughters who insisted on telling everyone that 's..t' was not swearing in New Zealand ! Just musing on the quirks of being human xxxx

You have to be carful whatever you do on the Internet,it's a very powerful thing,as long as we act respectful and responsible then you cannot blame others for having lower or higher standards. To be true to yourself we have to act responsibly can't blame others!

Mike, it doesn't surprise me that you have had such a reaction to your joke on this site! I have come to the conclusion over the months that the site is changing and quite a few "oh, so easily upset" people are on here! If I were you I would totally ignore them! Enjoyed the joke very much and I can assure you that there are probably more of "us" in existence than the prudes of this world! Thanks for the fun!
