what are nodules

GP referred me to chest clinic whilst reading the referal letter when consultant left the room I noticed that chest xray showed nodules on the lung (should have asked at time)

what are they ??????

I think they may be calcified bits that show up on X-ray but I'm not sure so hopefully someone will be along who knows.

Hi Dillm2, a few years ago I had a skiing accident and had an x-ray, they found a nodule in my lung, don't know what it consists of but the consultant saw me every 6 months for 2 years to monitor any growth. He showed me the x-ray of the nodule on the computer and also showed me the measurement each time I went, amazing. Luckily it stayed at 4.2 cms over the 2 years then he discharged me.
