Hi folks me again, I am definitely sporting a chest infection but 3rd sample taken in and no infection only multiple viral bugs and candida !! last time I had an infection it took 7 samples to find psudamoina bug but my question is they ask for an a.m. fresh sample which is difficult getting to the infected part (bottom of lungs) because there is so much clear rubbish comes out in the morning, yet earlier afternoon / evening the kitchen sink and everything nasty seems to come out, can,t I take some of that in ?? help,,,,,,, im losing the plot thanks xx

Sorry to hear that Carol. Why don't you take an evening sample in and don't tell them? x

Thanks Tracy, I wondered if I put it in the fridge buut the cold air might kill the damn bug !! if so Il sit in the fridge all night haha xx

Morning Carol - I would also recommend you take the evening one - who will know and there is more chance they can find the infection and better than that it will give you some reassurance.

The problem when you are continuing to be ill is it starts to wear you down. I always find my husband gets so weary from it all - so I can only imagine how you are feeling! You are not loosing the plot - honest! Let us know what the results are from the evening sample. Look after yourself, take good care, TAD xx

Thanks, yes I do get weary of it all but I have such a zest for life, because of my young family mainly, they have given me 5 days of steroids which give me more energy so I am coping a bit better now, wish I could take them for the next 10 years only for the difference I feel after a day on these, only problem is I don't sleep well on steroids, and I don't get much sleep anyway with the rotten oxygen dooooooooohhhhhhh tis a very vicious circle, thanks I will let you know how I get on hugs Carol xx

Pete has taken samples in to our GP centre in the past but has never had anything show up. He takes Doxy or Azithromycin to help keep chest infections at bay so they probably mask any underlying problem. Taking in an evening one is ok but you will have to leave it overnight so it may be no good anyway. You can but try. Good luck to you. xxxx
