My latest adventure..: copdinfocus... - Lung Conditions C...
My latest adventure..
Well done you are a star. Given the motivation broken lungs do not have to be a barrier to having fun. I have a suspicion you slept well that night. Must have been all that fresh air!
Dozy x x x
Hi Dozy - you are quite right- I did sleep well that night - after two really bad nights of around 2 hours sleep each. I was like a zombie on the day but suddenly 'came alive' once we went to the quarry. Sadly it closes in a few weeks time until next spring - otherwise I just might see if I could get it on 'script' - lol x
Wow Parvati what a place, and good for you! Wishing you well or should that be whooshing you well?! Take care. xxxxx
Well done ! Nothing beats the pleasure of having an adventure, no matter how big or small.
Very true Argana - my 'hardest' adventure to date has been trying to master the ukulele - a year on and I still can't play and sing at the same time! I think we all have those things that we always meant to try 'one day' .... and one thing most of us have now is the time to try them!
It looks beautiful there Parvati, I don't think I could have done it, I'm a coward Lol. Well done you though, you've got guts in more ways than one. x
That really is something. I had to do solo parachuting 18 years ago and the first one was utter terror. Indescribable fear before the leap. But, I do recall the exhilaration once in control of the steering.
I've nothing but admiration for you & your family but particularly you. . . . would you do it again?
P xxxxx
Yes please Van, do it again and i'll come and do it with you too in the spring when it opens again. You are a fab role model.
Im so envious though i know i would be s**t scared. Anyone else fancy it? Peeg?
Hi O2 - that's a date then - next spring!!! I was really 'chilled' about it until that crucial moment - but that bit is over in seconds - once you jump it just feels like 'WHEEEEEEEE .. I can fly, I can fly , I can fly ... oh - it's over already'
Love it!! We'll do it.
I was thrilled recently when a friend asked me to replace a family member on their hot air balloon flight, something I've always wanted to do and also always been terrified of. And so expensive i could never have afforded it myself. Then it was cancelled due to bad weather and they reclaimed their money for the flight. So disappointed
Anyway good to keep trying new things. You'll probably have to push me off but that's all good
Have a great week Van
One word. Wow. X
Hi JK - yes - it did feel 'Wow'! I believe they have one in Wales .... or you are welcome to meet up with us other girls in the spring here in Cornwall .. I feel a mass jump coming on
Absolutely brilliant - you are amazing!!! Congratulations - long may you have adventures xxx
Hi Tadaw, thank you - the experience was amazing - I didn't look so amazing when I 'landed' with my 'undercarriage' down in the mud though and slid along on my rear end for 20 yards LOL!
Hi Parvati, Well done, that looked terrific, you must be pleased with your achievement. Nannyb xxx
Thank you nannyb. Yes I am glad that I finally got around to it - funnny how when things are on our doorstep we can overlook them for so long! It was surprisingly easy from the breathing point of view though - all I had to do was hang there. The hardest bit was walking all the way back to the car park after - uphill of course!
Well done Parvatti and thanks for showing us.
polly xx
Thank you polly - I don't often get to show people stuff as I haven't a clue about how to get pics from my antiquated old phone onto the computer - also nearly everything I do I do alone - walking the cliff paths, swimming etc and there is no one to take a pic of me. The pics of me on the Zip and also the ones in my 'Santa Run' outfit (in the 'About' section of the blog) were only possible because my son and D-in Law were with me. They take the pics and upload them for me to use as and when. Also I am very self conscious and I had to debate with myself for a couple of days before I had the confidence to share my mugshot with everyone - but I guess we are all a bit like that.
You should get yourself a phone with a good camera, then you'll always be able to record the moment and upload without any hassle. Essential for a blogger so maybe a good Birthday or Christmas pressie. Nokia Lumia is a reasonably priced phone with excellent camera or you could push the boat out and get an iPhone
Amazing Vanessa,I want to do it now and I don,t "do" heights!
It felt amazing .. and I very nearly didn't do heights either
Wow! Fantastic Vanessa!
thank you jenss.
Well, I'm lost for words in admiration for you. You are one brave inspiring Lady. Beautiful scenery. I showed your blog to my son and his friend and they were astounded. My son liked the scenery and he was in awe of your achievement but I couldn't see him having a go. His friend yes. Just one question, is the quarry ready for Pavati, peeg and O2Trees !!
Just saw your post! Wow,how wonderful that must have been, good on you, great achievement xxx
If your zip line experience is anything to go by then a parachute jump will be fine. I have done loads. Although not with a 'Helios Marathon' whatever that is in weight and size. I use 'Freedom 400' cylinders that would be a liberty on the back. A smaller cylinder below you so you cannot land on it and break your spine. Talk to your local jump school. I am sure they will try and accommodate your needs and find an appropriate experienced jumper to pair you up with. Jumping is really as close as you can get to flying free. Regards Rib
