Smoking and Temperature

Hi guys and gals. Well did it stopped smoking and so far it has been miserable:) Using e-cig to help but boy is this hard. the picture above shows one of the added incentives though taken of the dash in my car at lunchtime here - I hope you all are coping well and that you are finally getting a bit of much needed sunshine.

To those of you with doctor and or hospital visits I hope everything goes well for you.

Should point out though that the date is US style so reversed day and month to what we Brits are used to.

yes the heat is difficult at the moment because it has come on fast this year normally don't see 40 for at least another month. mind you it will reach 50 later:) so a really big benefit of not smoking is I get to stay in the rooms with AC.

I hope so:) only thing that is helping at the moment is that it is too hot go to the smoking area :)

Good for you — keep going!

Well done, keep going. Its one of the most difficult things we do but well worth it and we must be proud of ourselves. I went through hell goving up 5 years ago, but now wouldnt give you a thank you for a cigarette, i hate the smell now. Wished i’d never ever smoked. I must admit i have an ecig that is on standby , its just that bit of nicotine and ‘bite’ that we miss more than anything? You certainly have it hot there, must be uncomfortable. When i’m at my 2nd home in Spain the temperature can get unbearable for us sufferers so i just stay in with air con on. I wish you all the best. Take care.

Hi 👋 which insurance company did you use for your holidays tnx. Oooodicky

Hi not sure if you mean me or Sheepdog:). For me I get BUPA insurance from the company I work for so it really is not relevant for me as I work out in the sunny region of the world (really the only real things you see a lot of here are Sun and Sand:) ). When I take vacations from here I don't really have to worry about it because the BUPA covers me worldwide.

I know, from the posts on here, that insurance can be an issue and there have been some interesting discussions with a few suggestions. I am sure someone will chip in with an answer

Well done, only those that have done it will know the misery of stopping. Remember the benefits will take time to come through.

Well done on giving up the dreaded cigs...... I’m over 6yrs off them but could still happily light up one everyday. It is hard, very hard and for the first few weeks I was so ill I thought it wasn’t worth it, but it definitely is. That’s why I’ve never had another one although I still want one. Once the initial withdrawal (that’s what it is) is over you’ll reap the benefits. Keep on doing your best to stop it’s worth it xx

Well done so far but watch out for the "I need one" moment. I stopped 10 years ago but sometimes I could ..... believe me it's the best thing you can do for yourself. Sunshine?? I wish. not been warm since returning from Florida in February. Soon be summer. Stay in the shade...jane

Well done! It is so hard but so worth it. I gave up a few years ago and remember the little benefits like being able to go to the cinema without constantly wondering when the film would finish so I could go out and have a cig lol. You can do this and e-cigs are a definite help. I still keep one for if I have any sudden bad stress where I would have normally used to smoke. Good luck!
