Friday the 13th and a full moon.
Oooh, whoooo!! I'm scared stiff. I thought last night was absolutely magical. Take care
Hi Suzy,
No, not superstitious at all. Its all a lot of old rubbish derived from ancient myths! Now that I have had a second look at that cat and my brain is coming alive, aaaaahhhhhhh!!!! I will stay on the couch all day and watch Judge Judy. That should ward off anything untoward. ha ha ha lol. hug xxxx
Lol...let's face it ...Judge Judy would be enough to frighten away all evil _ dead or alive. She's like the legal systems answer to Bette Davies; who could forget the old movie, 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane' xx
Hi lovelight, yes Judge Judy is one scary woman, but very entertaining. I love the way she verbally puts them in their place. Public humiliation seems to work. What, I can't understand is the way those people put themselves up for the show anyway, they know what she is like. I wouldn't appear as a plaintiff, defendant or witness for anything. I'd love to be in the audience though. Me is the answer to your question about Baby Jane. Honestly I can't remember it, I must be far too young! I may have seen it as a teenager or something, but I don't like the sound of the title!! That speaks volumes. Hope you have had an incident free day. Take care, hugs xx
Oh huggs she would be the least of your problems. That is her before she got old and a little tatty, like her owner. Hope you enjoyed Judge Judy. xx
Hi Suzy, no no, the cat is lovely. I just meant the close up of her eyes reminded me of a cat prowling about with mice(including my own) under a full moon. I had a mouse in the house two years ago and my brave Felix ran away from it! I excused him as at the time because he had just had his eye removed, and he was bent down eating his breakfast on the floor and this mouse just ran in front of his head. I don't think he saw it, and ran out of the room. Me, I was rooted to the spot in my bare feet and jumping up and down in case it ran over me. I was making whimpering noises as I was jumping and my glasses fell off and broke. I jumped sideways over to the cupboard under the sink as I knew I had a humane mousetrap in there somewhere. I shut the kitchen door as I didn't want Felix to kill it. I caught it two days later and released it in the woods. I was only joking about the cat, it was just because it was so close up and it set off memories about my mouse. I have a vivid imagination in the sense that I visualise everything. No offence intended at all. I was making a joke about Judge Judy, as I was having a lounge on the couch day, because I did too much yesterday. By the way, I don't think the cat looks old and tatty at all!! No way. Hope you are well and take care. Lots of hugs. xxxx
She wouldn't know what to do with a mouse huggs, I don't mind mice but a bird flying around indoors sets my legs wobbling like jelly and my heart pounding. Ah that photo was a long time ago. Thanks i'm well a little tired tonight end of busy week. Trust you enjoyed your lazy couch day, I might have on tomorrow. Keep well stay safe. xx
Hi Suzy, If you are tired, then have a lounge on the couch day. I really am sorry if I offended you, as that would be the last thing I would want to do. I ended up sleeping (not intentionally), but that is what happens when I have one half day of activity. I have just looked at Tony's hike up the mountains. There are two lovely videos of him doing it with his daughter as camera lady. They are well worth a look. He is such an inspiration. Hope you feel more like yourself tomorrow. Nighty night night. big hugs xxx
Hi huggs, no way could you ever make me feel insulted. You are too lovely a person for that. Yes I have watched Tony's video. He is one courageous man. His daughter is beautiful and seems so caring. I'm late to bed tonight, normally I'm tucked up with a book by 9.30 at the latest but tonight although tired I feel a little restless. If I had the energy I think a walk before bed on such a lovely evening would do me good. Sleep well huggs. Take care xx
Hi Suzy6, weathers good here in the Midlands too, hope you are having a good day. Weekends here again I'm having a lazy day waiting for my overdue stair lift service to be done. Oh what an exciting life I lead, just putting my swimming costume in the case ready for my annual holiday with my friends next Friday. Have a good weekend
Well we were told to expect 26 degrees today here in London.
I live in Wimbledon and there's a great buzz in preparation for the tennis fortnight.
I'm just squidging putty, ready to do a little window repair.
Not superstitious at all......... well, not much!
Lovely day here too peeg. Enjoy the buzz. I am getting excited now Wimbledon is getting close. I am a little superstitious. Hope the window is fixed.
Hi Peeg, You live in Wimbledon?? You lucky dog you! I'm not really calling you a dog, the comment just seemed to fit your avatar! I am just wandering around and found your post. I am an absolute tennis nut, and my dream is to go to Wimbledon. I don't see it happening now though. I have looked through Wimbledon village on the internet, and have bought things from the Wimbledon online shop. I bought 2 dvd's of Andy's historic victory last year (one for a friend), and a set of special commerative stamps. I also have loads of tennis books going back to the days of McEnroe, Connors and the like. Andy isn't on top form yet, and I don't know how his new coaching arrangement is going to work out. Its a great pity that Lendl
left, although I can understand his reasons. He tried so hard to win Wimbledon, but sadly never achieved his goal. I think with him coaching Andy, that will have gone some way to help him. Gosh, I am rambling on so much, just the mention of tennis sets me off for hours. Thank goodness for digital tv and Sky etc, as the world cup doesn't interfere with Wimbledon anymore. Years ago it use to! Have you ever gone to Wimbledon to watch the tennis. If you have, I am soooo jealous lol. I am waffling, but just saw your post of a few days ago and the word tennis, and off I go.!! Hope you are well, and take care. hugs and love from huggs xx
Hi Hugs - and Suzy! Yes I've been to watch. My friends husband (both Scots btw) used to manage the men's dressing rooms and he used to get tickets. Usually ground passes but the fist year with the new roof on Centre Court I was there. Front row, back hand end. Was a great experience. I could also see the interviews being done by Sue Barker behind the green screen in breaks. I was pretending to be nonchalant behind my sunnies
It was hot that day but when a few drops of rain came they closed the roof, the very first time during a match. Was Venus Williams v ? .
I've got friends who either drive the players around or let rooms. A friend of a friend moves out for the duration and gets £5000 per week for her house . Oh the goss I hear!
One year my daughters friend Charlie who's a cameraman was staying with me & working there when I had a ground pass for the day. That was great. Sitting with him behind the scenes filming Martina. Also been several times at tea time when you queue for a pass, sat with picnics on Henman Hill, though not done that for 3 years.
I'm a bit sad that this is my last summer in Wimby.
I try to walk Fred up the hill to the Village & beyond to the Common as often as possible to work my lungs. Was on the Common yesterday. Sundays Fred & I treat ourselves to a large bowl of latte & soft boiled eggs (me) under the table crumbs & a bowl of water (Fred) outside Pain Quotidien and watch the world go by.
Hope you (of all posters) appreciate my waffling on !!
HI Peeg, I can only say again, you lucky dog you!! wow, imagine being able to experience all that. You realise that Suzy ( I am assuming) and I have turned green with envy. lol. If you hear any gossip this year could you pm Suzy and I and tell us? I am sure Suzy will not mind me asking on her behalf! I have heard that people rent their houses out to players and their families, and get paid a small fortune for it. I would love a ground pass for the day, just to wander around and soak up the atmosphere. Were you there last year when Andy won. I hope you were. I use to forgo a holiday and take my annual leave to sit in front of the telly during Wimbledon. ha ha ha. People couldn't understand why I would do that.!! I couldn't afford to go to London then. Now I could probably afford to go once, but probably wouldn't be able. to. In fact if I continue to improve, I might get pro-active and make it my mission to try and go next year. If I do, you can probably give me pointers for the best way to go about it, and where to stay etc. I think I would want a ground pass, and ideally a match on centre court at the end of the second week. I have already looked at the prices, because I keep getting emails from the Wimbledon shop, and they are daunting. I have never myself a huge treat in life, because I wasn't in a position to do so. Money does not matter all that much to me. As long as I have a roof over my head and can pay my bills I am satisfied. I think I mentioned before that I'm a country girl, so material things are not all that important, well apart from my laptop, camera and telly!! Take care Peeg and enjoy Wimbledon. From one waffle to another! Lots of hugs from Huggs xxx
I am in a bad way - never even noticed it was the 13th or a Friday! oooops
We have two black cats live at No. 13 (and think mother-in-law is a witch!!) But yesterday we got to see our MP won £6 on lottery and the wife went to get her hair done and as it was the very last hair do for a trainee before fully qualifying they said she can have it done for free!! so wasn't a bad day yesterday could do with a few more like that !!!
