Just a short post. I have Mild Cerebral Palsy and Left Hemiplegia.
I applied for Pip some time Last June/July 2013 and didn't get a F2F assessment until 22nd April. I have phoned on many occasions since, with dwp saying a will have a decision within 3 weeks of my assessments but its now into the 5th week.
I phoned last Thursday to hear the same things and got a call a few hours later and they said, They are sorry its taken so long and i will have a Decision within the next few days. Phoned this morning and the lady told me The Decision Letter is literally being written or whatever and should have something within 24-48 hours.
Can the call from them and them telling me I could have a Decision any time soon be any type of good sign? Has anyone else that has been awarded had a similar experience?

I applied last October, had face to face April, was granted my PIP 5 weeks later, when I phoned they told me over the phone that I had been awarded it,and a letter would be on its way,the post is really slow from the DWP,they should tell you on the phone.Sooki.
they should be able to tell on the phone what you have or have not been awarded there is no reason why youshould have to wait for a letter phone them tommorrow
The government decided all PIP claims should NOT have a set amount of time to be completed by either ATOS or DWP so they can take as much time as they like. Be 5 minutes late for your own face to face and all your benefits are stopped immediately. Don't send any forms back in time - all benefits stopped immediately. The DWP have caused me nothing but immense stress and unnecessary hassle and I deeply regret working for years and paying my NI.
That is so true. I went for an ESA and they were late seeing me and said that I could sit for 30 minutes. But once I said what choice did I have and I was in pain waiting and standing was not the right option as that would've caused me more pain. Different worlds different rules.
In the real world what the DWP and ATOS do is the nasty thing called 'setting people up for a fall'. It's like being back in the playground again - the bully saying if you don't do as I say I'll tell.
The call is neither a good nor bad sign. The DWP have been told in no uncertain terms to smarten up their act where PIP is concerned and are making some attempts to do so with vague improvements in customer service. When my decision was made I was told over the phone and the letter arrived 2 weeks later. For reference applied PIP 17/11/13, face to face 17/03/14, decision 22/04/14.
I was told over the phone when I called them 3 weeks after face to face, the lady told me that there's a letter on the way, also told me how much back pay and date it would be in bank and also the date next payment is due
I think we should all email the guy who is responsible for the benefits reform ask him what his party intend to do with the benefits if they were LUCKY enough to be reflected in 2015, I'm going to email him saying waiting a years for a f2f is not good enough and are you going to continue to teat people like me with a lung condition like a piece of dirt, are you going to continue with Atos who are not fit for the job and what are you going to do to help people like me we should all do it send his email in to over drive I really would like to do something to him but its not printable not on this site but it involves a brick and the Atos rules.
