Yes, I have it in addition to sarcoidosis. There are quite a few peopl on here that have it

I take azithromyscin 3 times a week to reduce the infection.

Hi twins 1997, I too have Bronchiectasis. Was treated for Asthma for 3 years until repeated chest infections led my GP to refer me to the Respiratory clinic. Had lung function tests and CT scan which proved it was Broncy. I have Mucodyne tablets to keep my sputum runny, Azithromycin tablets three times a week, Spiriva, Seretide 250 and Salbutomol. Still get pseudomonas colonisation though. Just recovered from the latest one after 14 days on Tazocin IVs.

Hi twins

Sorry to hear you have been dx with bronchiectasis but glad you have joined us - welcome.

Yes there are quite a few bronchiectatics on here, me being one of them. I have had bronchiectasis since babyhood and more recently asthma and inflam arthritis.

Is there anything specific you would like to discuss - there is usually someone around happy to respond.

love cx

Hi, yes I have Bronchiectasis, mild asthma and several other conditions too. I was on Azithromycin 250mg 3 times a week but still getting all the nasties growing in my lungs so was increased to 500mg 3 times a week but I can't tolerate it so I am seeing my consultant to decide what to do next. I also take Seretide 500 twice a day and Salbutamol.

Hi twins, welcome to this really fantastic site. I too have bronchiectasis and asthma. Due to recent infection I was taking my rescue ab's but after one week developed severe diarrhoea with horrendous stomach cramps which lasted 3 days. This was my second time on augmentin and apparently it killed all the good bacteria as well as the bad! so my advice is keep a diary on everything you take and it's effects. Good luck from Kissi :)

Moderate asthma and a couple of other conditions, i don't know they should have picked this up earlier

Just been told I have Bronchiectasis after years of suffering with asthma, and suffering for over a year with constant breathlessness without any real diagnosis. I've probably had Bronchiectasis un-diagnosed for years!

I'm in the same boat. I was diagnosed earlier this year with mild bronchiectasis after a ct scan. Put on some tablets for 3 weeks, and a nasal spray for a month. And that was it.

Not told anything other than probably due to an infection when I was young. Did see someone from respiratory department a few months ago, asked how I was and replied no change. And was then told they would see me in 6 months.

Also awaiting 3x heart bypass.
