Good news after the disaster of ATOS

Got home feeling really fed up after the ATOS fiasco (see my earlier post) to find a letter from Addenbrookes from the immunologist saying that I need immunoglobulin therapy and a £10 gift card from M&S after I complained! At least hopefully once the therapy starts I won't suffer from continual infections.

Even managed to go see my twins in their nursery Easter entertainment. Very excited that Mummy Daddy and "nana" were there. Played with them in the park afterwards. x

Lovely to hear that,so glad things are working out.

I bet you were a very proud Nanna,I have twin Grandsons, who are now 13,wonderful boys, enjoy the childhood, they grow up so quickly!

Love & hugs,Wendells xxx

I just seen your post about having immunoglobulin therapy ! I started on it about 2 years ago , i went to Heartlands hosp near Birmingham, they taught me how to do it my self to cut down on hosp visits and i do it weekly sub cut into my tummy or leg it not much trouble in the scheme of things along nebs 02 and everything else. ! Just takes about an hour and gives you chance to catch up on emmerdale omnibus ! Its.certainly cut down on ammount of hospital admissions ...so go for it if its offered to you Good luck. Dont worry you,ll be fine

Thanks. I saw my respiratory consultant today who is based at a different hospital. He has told me to keep a daily diary of peak flow, exercise, breathlessness, sputum and infection so I have a record to compare things. I can see it could be useful also for ATOS although it will only be a couple of weeks till I see them.

I hope I can do it at home so I don't have to go to Addenbrookes all the time. Whilst she lives at home my younger daughter can be taught what to do as she qualifies as a nurse in a couple of months.

It's always nice to know that other people are benefitting from a treatment. x

Hi there ..my resp consultant is in. N staffs. But immuneologist in Birmingham so benefits of doing it myself at home are great ...it just took a couple of visits to show me what to do and i was off just 4 monthly visits for bloods etc . Ther are people who go weekly or monthly to have it done but at nearly 100 miles round trip plus another day visiting hosp along with all other appts its easier at home ..holidays are no hassel just take stuff with you . Anyway i found it benificial and hope you will too .let me know how you go on ..Sue.
