gov.uk/definition-of-disabi...

[Quote] You’re disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities.

'substantial’ is more than minor or trivial - eg it takes much longer than it usually would to complete a daily task like getting dressed

‘long-term’ means 12 months or more - eg a breathing condition that develops as a result of a lung infection

COPD is defined as a disability as it is an on going chronic illness. However for benefit purpose and other things they look more at how much it disables you and effects your daily living. Hope that helps your question

Do you take omiprazole for the reflux, I used to suffer with it, but since taking this it is almost non-exsistant. I would ask your GP. Keep smiling

omiprazole works for me too been on it for 20 years. I have RLD which gets a blank look from JSA, ATOS and DWP

Plus a heart condition and arthritis it took me 18 months for them to agree it was a disability.

COPD - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease - in this case Chronic mean 'long term' so yes, it is a disability. I have COPD Bronchiecstasis and I have a blue badge and it is a godsend as I can't walk very far at the moment but I am doing Pulmonary Rehab so here's hoping things will improve but it's hard work! Take care, Lizzy.

Thankyou so much for all your helpful replies,i could not get straight back on here yesterday(it wouldn't let me lol) Yes I do have Omeprazole from docs and as long as I behave myself with eating habits I no longer get the heartburn. I know that copd is a long term lung desease and it will never get better,it does restrict me in many ways as does the acid reflux. I am on 3 inhalers plus codeine phosphate - for my chronic cough! The guy has now been from P.I.P and spent 2 hrs with me on the interview. I also have arthritis in my left wrist and foot also in 2 fingers of my right hand and top of spine so all in all we shall see what they decide. Again, thankyou for advising xx
