What are the clinical trials for what drug and what condition and what is the criteria for taking part Peter - oh and which centres are taking part please?
I did do a study a few years ago Peter, it was run byGlaxo Smith Kline Pharmaecuticals at the Medicines Evaluation Unit at North West Lung Centre, Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester. It involved no drugs and was just breathing tests on state of the art equipment. There were 3 visits a year over 3 years and 2 or 3 scans. It paid around £1,200 over the three years (called "expenses") so was well worth it and they gave you the very up to date statistics about how your condition was progressing. I'm a scaredy cat though, I would never trial drugs! I do realise it's very important and someone has to do it, but not me! I have enough problems with the all drugs I have to take as it is!
If you or anyone else lives in or near Manchester, here's a link. It's a great place and you get treated extremely well.
PeterK1 - Is this a BLF funded project you are referring to? The BLF funds research, it doesn't carry out the research so no-one from the BLF would have contacted you. May be worth a call to the BLF Helpline - 03000 030 555 - and someone will look into it.
Really sorry, my mistake, it is The Heart and Lung Centre not BLF:-

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are sending this email in regards to potential studies we have coming up in the near future. The studies are for COPD patients and will be ranging from short 1 or 2 week studies, up to the larger 12 months study which will contain 7 visits. Participants will be reimbursed for every visit/study they take part in. The total reimbursement will vary between different studies.
If this sounds like something you may be interested in or you have any queries, please respond to this email or alternatively, give us a call on 0800 023 4824.
