The Spanish are pretty switched on to lung diseases actually so you will get the very best treatment, I was admitted as an emergency once with collapsed lungs and spent 16 days in Elche (Alicante) hospital which is a University hospital and the care was excellent, they had every bit of equipment, CAT scanners all on site. All of their medications are the same or similar to the UK so I am sure you will get the right attention.
Hi Thankyou all . & Perce you are correct about Spanish Hospitals ,I was in Los Arcos hospital in Murcia & have received the very best treatment & a big plus the food is really nice :)...

Hi a big welcome to you. This is a lovely site I don't get on as much as I'd like anymore but always check in when I get a chance.
At least when you get your results, you will be able to see what you are up against and start to understand it. If it helps, I was diagnosed moderate COPD 18 years ago and changed to Severe about 7 years ago and I am still here fighting back. Be realistic, don't give up and find ways of fighting back. You have to maintain or even get a level of fitness and some of the things you find you can't do, adapt your ways of doing it. You will be as much of an invalid as you let yourself be....old age will come early and you be totally reliant on others....IF YOU LET YOURSELF. The outcome of your tests...good or bad...at least you will know. So, chin up, see what you are up against and fight it. Keep in touch with everyone here..let us know when you need help or advise but don't forget to let us know when you achieve the minor miracles, when life is good and everything in the garden is rosy. Thinking of you.
