Hi Nik37, yes, I think most of us are affected by things like candles, room sprays, burners, cleaners, etc. Best to avoid them if possible. Just another set of things to add to the list Nik. x

They certainly can make you breathless Nik. My wife is the biggest candle lover in the world but I have had to ban them, they really got to me.

Yes, i'm the same, in 2 stores the staff have had to help me with a chair and glasses of water. It's hard to grasp the problems we actually face when all we want is to do a bit of shopping.

I used to work nights in Tescos and certain aisles were off limits to me. Candles was number one....without them being lit. Air freshners were the next and on the shop floor of the bakery was also bad.....they might be browning the bread but the small particles of carbon in the air were bad....real bad.

I found it isn't the scent but the quality of the oil/fat that they are made with.

Cheap tea lights being the worst culprit.

Beeswax - no issue!

I normally burn yankee candles or glade but not going to burn any now x

Ive posted here before that most candles are made from petroleum, hardly surprising we have problems with them!

I can't use anything that has a scent. It is good that you found a trigger though so you can stop using it
