My Gran used to say, " you die if you worry and you die if you don`t so, why worry"

She was 103 when she died after a hip operation.

My Gran was full of little saying`s.

Her favourite to us ( then ), kids was " a penny in the bank ( or under the mattress ! is you're ane best friend "

I wonder if she new all those years ago about the LibCon austerity measures!!.

Hi Tonc,Gran's always had their sayings,mine used to say,you die if you worry & you die if you don't worry,so why worry,I find myself saying the exact same thing to my children.Mary

I tried putting some Old time wisdom onto my kids ( who are not kids anymore.

They just laughed and said dad was a bit batty...

They don't say that now!!!.

Thanks Tomc. I comfort myself in thinking that even if there's no real solution, but only one that helps me along, then the final bit will be OK

I'm reading Pilgrim's Progress at the moment. Pilgrim goes through the slough of despond, and has to climb the hill of difficulty before reaching the Celestial City, where he is acclaimed.

Pilgrim is a model for us.
