My Gran used to say, " you die if you worry and you die if you don`t so, why worry"

She was 103 when she died after a hip operation.

I tried putting some Old time wisdom onto my kids ( who are not kids anymore.

They just laughed and said dad was a bit batty...

They don't say that now!!!.

Thanks Tomc. I comfort myself in thinking that even if there's no real solution, but only one that helps me along, then the final bit will be OK

I'm reading Pilgrim's Progress at the moment. Pilgrim goes through the slough of despond, and has to climb the hill of difficulty before reaching the Celestial City, where he is acclaimed.

Pilgrim is a model for us.

I remember in my teens rolling my eyes and thinking not again when my mum came out with sayings and quotes. Well I now find myself using them.
