If bronchiectasis has shown up on a ordinary x ray, is there any need for me to have a ct scan.

I hear a lot of people on this site saying about a scan. My condition shows up on x ray. I am getting worse, and I am seeing the doc next week, i'm wondering if a scan would show any more than the x ray.

Ct scan will show much more and clarify things seen on xray and help as far as treatment go's

Hi cheers yep hope i am it nearly killed me had to stop taking striode pill had server reaction .. one of there side effects is pneuomea or how ever you spell it.

But ye feeling quite ok just spells of breathless

Anyway looks like you have a good doc looking out for you and dont forget strees will make your breathing worse

Agree with Flibberti, cant understand why they faff about wasting valuable treatment time. The ct scan will show very clearly the damage so far.

Dazisnotsogood, Why don't you ask about a pneumonia vaccine? I'm still amazed by the fact that although over 65s (even healthy ones) can get one free, there are so many with lung problems who haven't had it yet!! I had mine when in my 50s.

Come on GPs, it's not rocket science is it??

Hi cheers ye i already had pneumonia jab .. Even that wont stop you getting it by all acounts its not as bad.

Coughed up more of me lung scabs debris with those asbestos fibbers init

Think its them giving me all these infection's

Hi dazisnotsogood. you should ask for pneumonia vaccine. As with poemsgalore I had mine in my 50's.

Only been of antibiotics 2 days .. That after a month of taking them
