Mw77, look on the idbandco.com, I bought one 2 weeks ago.. Take care
Thank you, I will. Take care.
Hi mw77, Blue Medical Alert wrist bands that allow medical staff to quickly identify someone with copd are available from Breath Easy Portsmouth South. I first saw them on BLF's home page so if you don't know how to contact Breath Easy then BLF will be able to help you. They cost £2.50 each plus p+p. They have been approved by the ambulance service. Good luck and take care. hugs xx
Hi again, The bracelets I was telling you about are the same ones that are on ebay. I checked out all the medical jewellery on ebay and they have a really good choice and price ranges to suit everyone. I would have a look at them, if you have not already bought one, and then decide. Good luck. xx
Thank you for that information, very kind of you. Just the thing.Take care hugs xx
£2.95 on Ebay. P&P free. ebay.co.uk/itm/COPD-Patient...
I like these though. Tags with a chain.
£4.57 plus £3.44 P&P from America.
I bought a medic alert bracelet. It was expensive compared to above suggestion, and you have to renew details kept at office every year. BUT is something I wear all the time so wanted something that looks nice and IS made out of silver
There is a company called Medical id band. You can find all different types of emergency alert id's on there.
If you use a smart phone, there was an app but min appears to have stopped working. There is also an oximeter but that is very unreliable....but try this. An ambulance driver told me that if someone falls ill in the streets, they have to go through personal belongings to identify that person. There is a brilliant ICE app...Incase of Emergency. You can list your conditions, drugs etc. Also phone numbers of who to contact which also allows you to select one number that comes on your front screen of your phone...it says "In case of emergency, please ring....." You can also photograph your gold card, passport etc, so that they can be sure the person they are treating belongs to that phone and not just borrowed it or pinched it. It works really well, it is free too, The only downside is that you must keep your phone unlocked to enable them to get to the information.
I seem to have so many ailments my arm will not take them all. I did see one that was on a USB stick with the alert symbol on. Another was the barcode that took you to a website that listed all your problems and medications. But a yearly charge for that.
Offcut you would look like one of them lucky lucky men on the Spanish beach lol
ebay.co.uk/itm/SOS-BRACELET...
Try this one out Offcut. I am not sure if the link will work but this is a watch on ebay, which I have. You unscrew the top and inside you can write all the information you need. I have various health issues also, and there is room to list them, medication, allergies and who to contact in an emergency etc. Hope this helps as it sounds like what you need. If the link does not work just go onto ebay medical alert jewellery. hugs xx
There is also something else people might like to know about, its a emergency canister,, you put the sticker on your front door ( its a green cross) and inside the canister is a form where you can list your ailments and the medicines you take,,the canister is kept in the fridge, this cross alerts ambulances or whatever, that you have a canister in the fridge,,it means you can update things as well,, our surgery supplies them, but they can be got from lions.org.uk
I carry a card in my wallet that I made myself & got laminated. Gives my health details (particularly that 100% oxygen can kill me) ..... & my hospital numbers, my emergency contacts & details.
I also now carry a note from my consultant stating that for medical reasons I cannot physically breath into a breathalyser ....... I don't drink, but got pulled over in one of those random pre-christmas spot-check roadside tests. I physically couldn't manage enough puff to do the breathalyser properly. They thought I was kidding & as a result got carted back to the police station, locked up for about 4-hours & missed my meds ..... & very nearly got prosecuted for failing to give a breath test, which is about the same offence as actual drink-driving. I can't walk 10-feet, but they told me to find my own way home & come back in the morning for my car. Thank goodness I have friends, else I would've slept in a doorway.
Joke is, I haven'y even had a glass of wine in the past 20-years - Christmas Eve & I can guarantee I was probably the most sober person in the County.
I called this a watch, but it is a bracelet that I have given you the link to. There is also a watch available which works exactly the same as the bracelet, but is more robust. Happy Easter hugs xx
