Hi

Have a look at

healthunlocked.com/blf/post...

Do each excercise for a specific time

Start at 20 seconds,

Then 30 seconds, build you self up at your pace.

You do have to push yourself ,

Thanks Stone i will have a look at this

My husband has just been to pulmonary rehab and did a sequence of exercises I am presuming the link above will show you the sort of thing. Also if you are computer savvy you could search on you tube for some very good exercises for Copd. Good luck TAD xx

Thanks Tad.Have never been near youtube but wiill have a look.

You can get DVDs for exercises. I can recommend a Jane Fonda one for seniors. Also "Move It or Lose it. Both include chair exercises. Problem for me with exercises, keeping my concentration and interest. All the best. Annie

Hi, there are lots of exercises you can standing at the back of a chair (for support should you need it) and you can slowly build up your stamina. Marching on the spot is one, gradually, over time building up speed and time.

I think there are some examples on YouTube. Good luck and here's to getting stronger :)

We use a Wii machine. Half an hour of ten pin bowling or tennis, even cycling gets your blood flowing without leaving your house. The best thing is you can pause it for a cuppa if you want to.

Our local gym (run by the council) has toning tables for people who find exercise difficult. The tables do the movement themselves but you muscles get a good workout. I went for the first time yesterday and I thought the toning tables were great. All the best Mandy.

Walking burns oxygen. You can try going slower for short periods, several time per day. OR, you could do exercises to bring up your heart rate that do not burn as much oxygen. Elliptical machines use more of your thigh and glute muscles. If you start to involve your arms, you will burn oxygen. Try to use the ones with the just the stepping part. Instead of using oxygen, mainly stored glycogen is burned.

hi I go to our local gym and do aqua fit because of back problems I could not exercise on land and the water takes the weight of your body. We have women and men from the age of 21 to 81 a lot of ladies do aqua fit after knee and hip replacements.
