You are doing so well, pamela, you dont want to spoil it all by giving up now. I have been through what you are experiencing. I know it is hard, and because it is hard, you cant give in now.
Just wondering how you are occupying your hands. I have taken jigsaws on line - trying downloading Magic Jigsaws. Loads and loads, some free. What else, sewing just anything to take your mind of the craving. It will lessen, believe me, or you will learn to deal with the cravings. They will go away.
Tell you what, Pamela, PM me when you get desperate and we can talk. All the best love Anniseedxx
Hello aniseed thankyou for your replie I won't give up but just struggling at the moment I've had a bad,few days I try to keep my mind occupied but find it very hard with all the medication iam on to concentrate ism not very good, with computers but I will ask my daugther who is a whizz on them to have a look on line If it werent for this site and everybody support don't think I would of got this far I don't mean to sound daft but what does pm mean thankyou for all your Help xxx
Nice to hear, Pamela. First of all PM means private message. Click on my pink flower on the left, and on the right you will see something like send a message.
You tell you you aren't very good with computers. Well, there's an opportunity to explore and find out which will keep your mind off the fag. Lots of stuff to learn and occupy you. Knowledge of the keyboard is something to learn.
Dont know what meds you are on but some off the effects can affect you. (Speak with feeling - husband is on chemo)
Anyway, one thing should be in your way - no smoking. Nag! Nag! is what I am good at. Love Annie x

Hang in there Pamela. You already have it beaten though you may be experiencing its death throes! Have you rewarded yourself? Don't just concentrate on the health side of things. Think also about the money you have saved and give yourself a little treat (or not so little). You are doing really well and it does get better - promise. xx

Well done Pamela, hang in there, you can do it!! Great advice from Annie,& Toci.
So important to do something nice for yourself, that you couldent afford when smoking, that was my saving grace! Also the words of my friend ringing in my ears,'it's your choice,& no one else's if you put it in your mouth, so true!
The worst is nearly over, stay strong & proud of yourself!
Love Wendells xxx

polly xx
Hi Pamela, well done, you are doing so well, keep on going girl as everyone says, it took me a few attempts to give up, don't give up giving up as the saying goes and the cravings will go eventually, try and be strong, you will feel so much better in the end and yes you must treat yourself to something nice, breath easy and good luck, we all understand what you are going through.
Best wishes
Jude x
Hi Jude thankyou for your comment I won't give up on giving up the way I try and be strong is I look at my 4 grandchildren and wouldn't want to inflict any of my smoke on them not that I used to smoke infront of them because I never did but as that advert on TV shows it's always in the air That advert Defoe brought it home to me,and I have treated myself it's,the first time thou since I've given up smoking normally I was, treating my grandchildren because that made me feel good but this time I've ordered myself some willow ornaments that I collect sorry for going on with myself xxx
I gave up in 1992 in hospital with double pneumonia, If someone lights up close by it still smells so good. I wish I had never even started it must be one of the most stupid addictive things I have ever done.
Be Well
Phill
Pamela you are doing really well , don't give in at this stage I had the same thing happen to me, you will get through it.
The last word professor Ormrod said to me were don't start bloody smoking again!
Hi pamela67, you have done great to get this far they say the first three months is the worst so hang on in there. Keep visiting this site to take your mind off the lows and cravings, pamper yourself, have a treat you deserve it. Most of all don't give up on giving up.
Hi Katie so sorry for the delay in replieing I have treated myself bought a couple of willow ornaments like toci said I intend to hang in there but still struggling just trying to keep my mind busy my grandchildren have been visiting alot so that as,took my mind of the ciggys thankyou for your comment xxx
Been to lunch today, then nurse for leg dressing Glad to here you are hanging on in there. I have one or two willow ornaments plus a few Anysley china which are my collectibles. My grandchildren are adults now, youngest being 18 in January, but I have three great grandchildren newest is three weeks old, have fun with your grandchildren they soon grow up .
I stopped March 8th and like you I have good and bad days. I know I must never smoke again for my good and as you say for my grandson.
I have found that I can now walk further than for a long, long time. So I take myself off for nice long walks on the beach or around the park and take in some long (longish) deep breaths and tell myself if I hadn't given up I couldn't do this. It's a lovely feeling. Keep on giving up it's worth it, and so are you.
