Last week we had a few minutes of rain so this is only the second time in about 4 weeks.
The lightening last week struck the church near where I used to live about 4 miles from where I live now. I drove past the next day and workmen where already repairing the roof must have a good insurance company.

Some people are destined for great things, Annie, my purpose in being was to support the factory - I do throw myself into the role with great gusto! xx
Sorry for going off piste Gail, we've had a few drops in south Manchester the last few days and a few rumblings (outside, that is) but it just seems to have made it heavier and heavier, to the point where I have barely any breath. Worst I've been for a couple of months. Trying to drink lots of water but then such a struggle to the loo and back. Where's winter gone????
We will! At least when it's cold you can put more clothes on, I refuse to take mine off for the heat on the grounds if anyone spotted me though the window they'd be dropping like flies and am not sure which one of the many bins we have takes bodies.
We have had a bouncing rain this evening in Yorkshire but no thunder, and it is still quite warm. Libby, PLEEEASE don't bring the winter back just yet.
It's just started piddling down again here in Dorset - I know this because the cat has appeared and is slightly damp and unimpressed. Heading towards the settee...... eww
Always rains when I go on holiday, Didn't I tell you?

its supposed to be dry tomorrow, fingers crossed for you
It has started raining here in Cornwall (it rained a bit last night too). We haven't had any thunderstorms yet but no doubt they will arrive.
I'm still feeling a tad warm so I'm hoping that the rain freshens the air a bit. I don't really want the cold of winter - just something cooler/fresher than it is at the moment. I'm lucky in that I live on the coast (on top of a hill overlooking Carrick Roads (a river)) so I suppose it's cooler here than inland.
Hopefully Lancashire and Cornwall will be fresh and cool tomorrow!
Love and hugs

Hi again Gail. Where do all these ladies get their wit and humour from at this time of night? I peaked at about 7pm. To cap it all it is peeing down in the Black Country.
lots of raspberries coming your way, and not the edible ones.
Its been raining here in Torquay. I always know when it starts coz my telly gets neurotic! Took dog down beach yesterday and today all she got was the park. Rain forecast for next 4 days..
The good news is the wild blackberry bushes where I take her are starting to produce fruit now. Only just but it can only get better. I can eat 30/40 while taking dog out. There were so many last year I debated getting a market stall and selling them...

I love blackberries, hypercat. Make sure the ones you eat are higher than a dog's cocked leg!!
Rained heavily all night in South Derbyshire with thunder and lightning. It as stopped now and it is fresher now, but not sure how long it will last. Hopefully it will reach the north of the country shortly.
It looks like you win the prize for the worst weather. The pavements are wet here this morning and there is a breeze but the sub is trying to come out.I am going an errand to Bury shortly so I will take an umbrella'
Hi Gail I have taken advantage of the cooler weather and had a game of golf. Must keep the exercise going. It is so much fresher out there now with quite a nice breeze blowing. Brian
