You got it oh so right, I have been registered for so long and reading all your blogs for weeks now.I feel like a part of your family all ready, even though I haven't written anything yet. This is partly because I am not a big writer, but it is also because my health is a bit complicated at the moment and I wanted it sorted before I spoke to you all.
I was diagnosed with COPD 10 years ago and up til last couple of years I haven't really suffered with it(I kept smoking too).At the end of March I decided to try give up smoking, I got down to 2 a day and then caught a very nasty virus and chest infection. The whole of my neck was swollen, I started coughing up small amounts of blood and just could not stop coughing.GP made urgent appointment with heart and lung unit as he said there is a possibility that I might have lung or throat cancer. The outcome of that was that they wanted me to have a Bronchoscopy.Well I thought I would wait til the results of that before I introduced myself to you all.Unfortunately, it went wrong, they sprayed my throat with stuff that tasted like bannanas, that was fine, then they put gel up my nostrils, suddenly the back of my throat felt full up and blocked and then I thought the top of my head was going to explode.Thats last I remember.Later Doctor said they could not finish procedure but managed to get some fluid out of my lungs to test for cells and said they found a mass on right side of my neck and now they want me to have body scan.So I now have to wait another 13 days before I hopefully get some answers. To be honest when I read phillips1 blog, I just wanted to cry as I feel so sorry for myself and I need to speak to people that know how I feel.I think you are all brilliant.Genex

It's difficult to know what to say when you haven't had someone else's experience but just know that we will help in any way we can, if only to cheer you up when needed. News of that sort is obviously going to knock you sideways.

Wow if that's not cause to complain I ain't never heard one. As the above say we are all living with one lung condition or another. We lend support and in our turn rely on the compassion we know our friends will have for us in our need.
Welcome to our informative and supportive oasis from the world.
